I'd like to ask you a question...
I'm serious, and I'd like you to think about it for a minute... So, here it is... "What is the most important thing to you about your wedding day?"
I hope you did think about it, because the answer should help you decide who you hire to create your wedding photographs.
If your answer had words and phrases like "to have fun", "to have a day that I'll never forget", "to soak up everything that's going on around me" or "to enjoy spending time with family and friends", then you and I might be on the same page...
You see, if you ask a bunch of wedding photographers what they think is the most important thing to them, in regards to wedding photography in general, most will say "good photographs".
I disagree. It's more than that, and that's what a lot of brides will miss. They get so caught up in new products, styles and "deals", that they lose sight of what was really important to them. Of course, good photographs are important, but if someone ruins your day creating them, what good is that?
There are a million photographer out there right now, and you might be feeling a little overwhelmed - I certainly would be! Here's a tip for you - this could be the one piece of advice that leads you to the right decision (whether you hire me or someone else). All photographers show their best work. That's it! What does that mean? It simply means that you can't hire someone based on what you see on their website. We are in a digital age, where emails, texts and websites are flying left and right. However, wedding photography is personal and emotional. How can you choose someone without meeting them in person (or even worse, based on a price!)
No matter who you choose, please don't choose based in web images or price. Make sure your photographer fits your personality. If he or she doesn't, then move on! And don't choose based on price. If the price is too low, there's a reason for that, and you shouldn't have to find out why!
