Location:
Studio, outdoors, or in your home.
What kind of photography do you do?
We create fine art portraiture, sometimes with an impressionistic mood. We photograph babies and children,
as well as mothers with babies and children. Dads Also!! We also work with families, couples and individuals.
In addition, we also do weddings, high school seniors, executive portraits, and public relation portraits.
How far in advance do I need to book a creative session?
You should generally allow 1 to 3 weeks. In addition, we prefer to have a pre-sitting consultation to
review your goals and objectives, as well as a style of portrait and appropriate dress. This consultation
helps to develop a friendly working relationship and results in a better product. There is no charge for
this service.
How much time do you allow for a sitting?
However long is needed - anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
How many exposures do you make?
Our objective is to capture that special image. That might mean an expression, a unique moment,
a pensive mood, or concentrating on the activity at hand. Typically, 30 - 60 exposures are made,
sometimes more.
How long until I see proofs?
A slide presentation normally is made within 10 to 14 days. During this slide presentation,
we will assist you in selecting images, sizes, finish, and cropping. You should be prepared to
make your decisions at this time. Since your concentration will be needed, we suggest you come
without your children. Plan on spending 1 to 2 hours.
When will I have my portraits?
Your images will go through several stages before final completion and approval. A work print
will be requested from our lab that will be carefully reviewed and instructions issued for artwork
and custom printing that will enhance the final image. After being returned to the lab, your image
will be custom printed, digitally and/or retouched by hand, mounted, lacquered, inspected, and
returned to us for final approval. This process takes 4 - 6 weeks after order is placed.
Do you retouch if necessary?
Retouching, as necessary, is included in all table and wall size portraits.
How much should I expect to invest in fine art portraiture?
This depends on what we do! A creation fee of $100-$150 is determined by the number of people,
location, and style of photography. Our photographs are priced individually. Since we do not sell
packages, you may purchase whatever you wish. Expect to invest $200 or more. Some families invest
considerably more, but that is your choice. There is no minimum obligation.
