Setting the Scene
First, each client meets with Neil for a consultation. Together they decide on location, setting, clothing, and possible props. In discussing concepts and ideas for capturing a timeless look people view a slide presentation as well as impressionistic art books. Next, the actual photography session takes place at a pre-arranged time. Once the proof slides are prepared Neil schedules an appointment during which the client selects photos, finishes and quantities.

Neil's Beginning
Neil began taking pictures at the tender age of 5 with the Brownie camera given to him by his parents. By the time he moved to America from England at age12, he was given his first 35mm camera. He went on to become a graduate from Columbia College in photography. For almost four years, he worked with Naperville photographer, John Hershey. Since then, he has branched out on his own with Neil Gates Photography.
